What Are The Safety Precautions For Different Types Of Conveyor Belts?

May 04, 2026

A conveyor belt is a piece of equipment used for continuous material transport, widely applied in industries such as mining, metallurgy, chemical, building materials, electricity, and grain. A conveyor belt is composed of a covering layer, framework material, and joints. The covering layer protects the belt from wear and corrosion; the framework material provides strength and support, with common types of joints being mechanical joints and vulcanized joints.

The following are several types of conveyor belts and safety precautions:

PVC conveyor belts are the most common type, suitable for transporting general materials. The DLZB PVC conveyor belt has a flexible body that is not easily deformed. Its formulation is reasonable, meets hygiene standards, has moderate color, is lightweight and durable. It is suitable for industries like food and medicine that have higher hygiene requirements.

PVG conveyor belts have a body that does not delaminate, is impact-resistant, and tear-resistant. They are suitable for transporting wet materials at inclines below 20 degrees; also suitable for material transportation in coal mining, metallurgy, and chemical industries. The joint method is flexible, either using buckle connections or adhesive connections, with high joint strength.

DLZB steel cord core conveyor belts are composed of core rubber, steel cords, a cage covering layer, and side rubber, featuring mold resistance, insect resistance, aging resistance, good heat resistance, high tear strength, and a renovable belt surface. They have high tensile strength, good impact resistance, long service life, minimal elongation during use, and good troughability, suitable for long-distance, large-capacity, high-speed transport.

Safety Precautions
Shutdown Maintenance: During maintenance and repair, ensure the conveyor belt is completely stopped.
Protective Devices: Install guards to prevent personnel from coming into contact with moving parts.
Emergency Stop: Equip with an emergency stop button to quickly halt the machine in case of emergencies.
