The Solution Of Automobile Belt Noise

Jul 07, 2021

The engine belt may slip on the generator, air conditioning compressor, and power steering pump, causing violent rubbing and vibration with a specific frequency noise.

The primary cause of slipping is a loose or aging engine belt. Factors leading to looseness include improper adjustment of the tension pulley or insufficient elasticity. First, adjust the tension; if ineffective, replace the pulley.

Aging refers to hardening and loss of elasticity over time, reducing friction between the belt and pulleys.

In such cases, replacing the engine belt is necessary.

Abnormal noise from the engine belt indicates aging.

If it ruptures after making abnormal noise, it can lead to failures in systems like air conditioning, power steering, and generation.

These components rely on power transmitted through the engine belt. Abnormal noises signal potential fractures that will cut off their power supply-resulting in non-functional compressors, generators, and pumps.

Therefore, any abnormal noise from the engine belt should prompt immediate inspection to prevent breakdowns.
