What are the structural features of a raised edge clapboard conveyor belt?

May 18, 2026

To facilitate bypassing the drum, the edge of the cleat is designed in a wavy pattern; the role of the transverse partition is to support the material. To achieve high-angle conveying, T-type and TC-type cleats are used. The cleats and transverse partitions are connected to the base belt by a secondary vulcanization method, providing very high connection strength. It is used to convey easily scattered powdered, granular, small block, paste-like, and liquid materials. Its features include suitability for conveying bulk materials at angles from 0° to 90°; wide range of applications, small footprint, no transfer points, reduced construction investment, low maintenance costs, easy maintenance, large conveying capacity, continuous operation, high efficiency, high-angle transportation, safe operation, easy to use, low freight, shortened transport distance, reduced project cost, and saving manpower and resources; it solves the conveying angles that ordinary belts and patterned belts cannot achieve. According to the usage environment, it can also be designed as a complete, independent conveying system, avoiding intermittent conveying and complex lifting systems. It can transport various bulk materials in horizontal, inclined, vertical, and variable-angle directions, from coal, ore, and sand to fertilizer and grain. There is no limit to material particle size, ranging from very small particles to large particles of 400mm, with a conveying capacity ranging from 1 cubic meter per hour to 6000 cubic meters per hour.

Raised Edge Clapboard Conveyor Belts

- The wavy cleat design on both sides of the conveyor belt allows a conveying angle of 30° to 90°. The wavy cleat design facilitates bypassing the drum, and the cleats and transverse partitions (T-type/TC-type) are strongly connected to the base belt by a secondary vulcanization method.

- The conveyor belt can achieve continuous conveying from horizontal to inclined (or vertical), and to achieve this feature, the drum requirements are higher than for flat belts; drums of larger specifications must be used for the same belt model.

- The conveyor belt is suitable for conveying easily scattered powdered, granular, small block, paste-like, and liquid materials.

- The base belt mainly bears the tension, but its lateral stiffness also plays a significant role in performance and results. If the stiffness is too low, lateral deformation may occur, causing material spillage. The outer part of the base belt uses covering rubber, and the inside can be made of various materials such as cotton canvas (CC-56), nylon (NN series), polyester (EP series), and steel wire core (ST series).

- The main function of the transverse partition (T-type/TC-type) is to support the material.

- When the conveying angle exceeds 70 degrees, it is recommended to use a covered belt. Using a covered belt can prevent material leakage from damaging the base belt and can also increase the conveying capacity of the material.
